The choice of material for flow meters depends on the nature of the medium being measured (such as corrosiveness, cleanliness, viscosity), working conditions (such as temperature, pressure), and accuracy requirements.

Common Flow Meter Material Categories:

Stainless Steel (such as 304, 316L)
Widely used in metal rotor flow meters, electromagnetic flow meter housings, turbine flow meters, etc., suitable for mildly corrosive media.

Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE)
Has excellent chemical stability, resistant to strong acids, strong alkalis, and organic solvents, often used as linings for electromagnetic flow meters, suitable for highly corrosive media such as concentrated sulfuric acid and aqua regia.

Hastelloy (such as HB, HC)
Used for electrode materials, resistant to oxidizing acids (such as nitric acid) and reducing acids (such as hydrochloric acid), suitable for highly corrosive chemical media.

Tantalum (Ta) and Platinum-Iridium Alloy
Tantalum is resistant to almost all chemical media (except hydrofluoric acid and fuming sulfuric acid); platinum-iridium alloys are suitable for nearly all corrosive liquids and serve as high-precision electrode materials.

PVDF, Vectra
Used for wetted parts of high-precision turbine flow meters, corrosion-resistant and suitable for clean fluids.

Fluoroplastic Linings (such as F46, PFA)
Used in electromagnetic flow meters to improve temperature and pressure resistance, compensating for the limitations of PTFE under negative pressure or high temperatures.

Rubber Materials (such as Neoprene, Polyurethane)
Used in wear-resistant applications, such as measuring sewage containing slurry or mineral slurry.
